Meet Debbie, this quarter's Employee Spotlight. She joined the Credit Union world in January 2013 and started as a part-time teller to a sister Credit Union. She then went on to help Members in Lending and finally found her way as a shared employee amongst three Credit Unions as Marketing Coordinator. Although Debbie is now mainly in the back office, she still loves to connect with Members at every opportunity she gets. Here are some fun facts about her:
If you could have any superhero power, what would it be?
I would love to have the ability to fly. There is something liberating about being able to go wherever I wish at any time. Also, it wouldn't hurt to catch some amazing views along the way.
How many states or countries have you been to?
Sadly, I have only visited ten states counting the one I live in: Hawaii, California, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Philadelphia, Nevada, and Washington DC. I'd love to visit more. I have also visited eight countries: China, Tahiti, The Bahamas, Mexico, Italy, France, England, and Austria.
What is your favorite place you have traveled to?
I loved Italy. I was fortunate enough to visit Rome, Milan, Venice, and Florence. I would love to go back someday and explore more.
What is your favorite quote and why?
“Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.” By Dr. Seuss
I really love this quote because it reminds us to be grateful for the life we have. Not everything is promised and in the end, it is what we make of it.
What special talent do you have?
Not too many people know but I am an amateur acrobat. I can usually be found training and practicing on the weekends.
